TW Steel’s ‘Pilot Your Life’ promotion concluded with Jonathan Marques Maycock named as the lucky winner, having received a total of 35,711 votes to beat 15 other finalists in a competition where the name of the game was sharing lifelong ambitions. As a result of Maycock’s win, the 30-year-old who lives in Loughborough, England, will now receive support from TW Steel, up to a value of 50,000 Euros, to help him achieve his goal of becoming an Air Ambulance Service pilot.
After the 16 global finalists were named earlier this month, all of whom had purchased a TW Steel timepiece and entered their ambitions via the ‘Pilot Your Life’ micro-site, voting began.
In a tight race to the end, Jonathan’s ambition proved to be the most popular with voters but faced a stiff challenge from the promotion’s runner-up, Marieke Bralten from the Netherlands who took second with an equally impressive 33,549 votes cast.
Launched in May, the ‘Pilot Your Life’ campaign was timed to coincide with the unveiling of TW Steel’s 24-strong Pilot collection, a range that has proved to be exceptionally popular with consumers around the world. At the same time a brand movie supported the promotion online featuring brand ambassadors Kelly Rowland, David Coulthard, Mick Doohan, Dario Franchitti, Mitchell Niemeyer, Kivanc Tatlitug and TW Steel CEO, Jordy Cobelens.
“I’d like to offer our congratulations to Jonathan on winning the fan vote and the ‘Pilot Your Life’ grand prize,” stated Cobelens. “His ambition to become a pilot for the Air Ambulance Service is notable and a bold goal, one which we will help him with having won the promotion. We’re looking forward to working with him. A big thanks goes to everyone who entered and of course to everyone who voted.”
The remaining 15 finalists will receive an all-expenses paid VIP ‘Meet & Greet’ with a TW Steel ambassador at an exclusive event while 50 more runners-up who entered will receive their very own TW Steel Pilot edition.
