Tribute
The 48-millimetre men's watch is a tribute to former motorcyclist Mick Doohan. In 2011, the five-time 500cc world champion became a TW Steel ambassador. That already resulted in three models. The TS6 is a watch for everyone, even if you are not a fan of motorsport. It has a clear link to Mick Doohan, but this is not directly reflected in watch.
With the TW Steel TS6 Mick Doohan Special Edition, TW Steel has chosen a watch from the popular Tech collection. The rugged look of the model suits Doohan. The watch is raw, robust and sporty, exactly as Doohan was known during his career.
Five-time world champion
Mick Doohan is one of the greatest motorbike racers of all time. He dominated the World Road Racing Championship in the 500cc between 1994 and 1998. During that period, the Australian claimed the world title five times and won many races. That Doohan was uber-able to do this may be called a miracle. The motorbike rider suffered a double leg fracture in a crash during practice at the 1992 Dutch TT Assen. Complications meant it looked like he would never be able to race cou again, but he fought back.
Signature of Doohan
The TS6 has a titanium PVD plated case with hammered bezel. On the lid of the watch is Doohan's signature. The glass of the men's watch is tempered mineral glass and has a sapphire top coat. This makes it extra protected against scratches. With a water resistance of up to 10 bar, it is suitable for swimming and snorkelling.
Miyota movement
Inside the TW Steel TS6 is a Miyota 6S20 movement. This quartz movement features a chronograph and date display.
Thanks to the silver/white hands above the black dial, the time is easy to read. The hands light up in the dark. The watch features a supple black silicone strap with a sporty red stripe. That red colour is tastefully reflected in some of the hour markers on the dial.
