For car enthusiasts and watch collectors (a combination we are quite familiar with at WatchXL), we currently have a very special and limited edition watch in our range: the Bulova Shelby Limited Edition. A rugged and sporty model that pays tribute to the iconic American muscle car, the Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Cobra. This special Limited Edition watch has a very robust design. A strong stainless steel case with a flexible silicone watch strap. The striping on this model is entirely in the style of the Shelby GT500 Cobra: blue with white. Everything about this men's watch exudes racing, it has a unique character and is equipped with clear indices and a chronograph with a tachymeter around it.
Every high-end Bulova watch is equipped with a Precisionist 262 kHz movement that can do something that most 'ordinary' watch movements cannot: tick 262,000 times per second. Standard quartz movements usually tick 'only' 32,768 times per second. Watches with a 262kHz movement do this much more often per second and do not have a ticking second hand, but a sweeping one.
This technology is impressive, but it is important to remember that the Bulova Shelby has a high-performance movement that is extremely accurate and is one of Bulova's flagship products.
The cool thing about this Bulova is that you get a 1967 Shelby Ford Mustang GT500 miniature car in 1:24 scale as a gift (temporarily, while stocks last). A cool collector's set that certainly adds to the collectible value!
Of course, this unique Bulova Shelby has anti-reflective sapphire crystal. That's to be expected in this price range. And yes, this model is quite pricey: £1,250 for a watch is quite a sum. But in return, you get a unique piece with a unique serial number. Each watch is numbered and comes in a luxurious limited edition box + car. Only 7,500 have been made worldwide and once sold out, this watch will never be produced again. A true collector's item!
With the Shelby Cobra logo incorporated into the subdial at 3 o'clock, the dial comes to life with an impressive 8-hand chronograph, including stunning time measurement accurate to 1/1000 of a second.
