This is how to set the time on your Citizen watch

Citizen watches are known for their precision, innovative technology and durability. Whether you wear a classic automatic timepiece or an advanced radio-controlled Eco-Drive model, setting the time correctly is essential for optimal use. In this manual, you will find clear step-by-step instructions for setting the time on a selection of commonly used Citizen timepieces. This will ensure that your watch always runs exactly wherever you are.

Use the instructions that correspond to the calibre number of your watch - this number can usually be found on the back of the case.



Citizen E660 uurwerk

Citizen E660 movement

  1. Pull the crown out to position 1.
  2. Turn the crown to set the function hand to [SET].
  3. Pull the crown out further to position 2.
  4. Press and release button A (bottom right).
  5. Press Button A repeatedly to select the item you wish to adjust (hour/minute → date → year/month → weekday).
  6. Turn the crown to adjust the values.
  7. Push the crown back to position 0 to complete the setting.

  1. Pull the crown out to position 2.
  2. Turn the crown clockwise or anticlockwise to set the time.
  3. Note whether it is midnight or noon to properly time the date correction.
  4. Push the crown back to position 1 and turn clockwise to set the date.
  5. Push the crown back to the base position.

  1. Unscrew the screw-down crown.
  2. Pull the crown out to position 2.
  3. Turn the crown left or right to set the time.
  4. Push the crown back to position 1 to set the date.
  5. Turn clockwise to adjust the date.
  6. Screw the crown back in place against the case.

  1. Pull the crown out to position 1.
  2. Set the function to TME.
  3. Press buttons A + B simultaneously to change the local time.
  4. Pull crown out to position 2.
  5. Set summer time (DST ON/OFF) via Button A.
  6. Set via Button B and the crown: seconds, minutes, hours and 12/24-hour system.
  7. Push crown back to base position to exit.

  1. Set the mode to CAL (time and calendar) via Button B.
  2. Press and hold button B until the LCD changes.
  3. Choose your time zone with buttons A/C, confirm with B.
  4. Set summer time with A/C, confirm with B.
  5. Then set seconds, minutes, hours, year, month and date via A/C and confirm each step with B.
  6. After the last step, the screen shows "SETTING COMPLETE" and the setting is complete.

  1. Pull the crown out to position 1.
  2. Turn the crown to set the seconds hand to the desired city (time zone).
  3. Press Button B to select summer/standard time.
  4. Hold down Button B for 2 seconds: second hand moves to 6:00, stopwatch minutes to 00.
  5. Pull crown further out to position 2.
  6. Turn the crown to set the minutes, hours and 24-hour display.
  7. Press button B to set the date.
  8. Turn the crown to select the date.
  9. Press Button B again to set the day.
  10. Press crown to exit.

  1. Pull the crown out to position 2.
  2. Press Button A briefly to activate the setting mode.
  3. Using the crown, set the seconds hand to 12:00.
  4. Press Button A again and now set minute and hour hands to 12:00 with the crown.
  5. Press button A again and now set the date to 1 with the crown.
  6. Push the crown back to the base position to save.



Citizen B740 movement

  1. Unscrew the screw-down crown.
  2. Pull the crown out to position 2.
  3. Turn the crown to set the time (hours, minutes and 24-hour hand).
  4. Push the crown back to position 1.
  5. Turn the crown anti-clockwise to set the date.
  6. Screw the crown back in place against the case.



Citizen U600 movement

Citizen U600 (a.o. Skyhawk) movement

  1. Pull the crown out to position 1.
  2. Turn crown to select TME mode.
  3. Push crown back into base position.
  4. Press button A + B simultaneously to change analogue/digital time.
  5. Pull crown out to position 2.
  6. Using buttons A/B, set: summer time, seconds, minutes, hours, 12/24-hour mode.
  7. Turn crown to change each item.
  8. Push crown back to base position to save.
