The blue dial features a skeletonised detail. Through this opening, you can see part of the movement in action. This is also known as an ‘open heart’: a window onto the technology that powers your watch.
This Maserati is fitted with an automatic movement. Whilst you’re wearing it, a rotor inside moves along with your movements, winding a mainspring. The mainspring stores the energy that drives the hands. So you’re wearing a mechanical watch without a conventional battery; after a prolonged period of inactivity, it may need to be restarted.
