A watch made of titanium has many advantages, we wrote earlier. The Citizen AT2480-81 watches (available in different colours) are one of those models made of titanium, or in this case even Super Titanium. Super Titanium is a material developed by Citizen that has been further improved over 'regular' titanium. The AT2480-81 movements are particularly strong, scratch-resistant and very lightweight. The light weight of this watch is one of the first things you notice when you hold it in your hand. It almost feels like it is made of plastic. It absolutely isn't. You expect a watch that feels heavy in the hand, but titanium simply has a very light specific gravity.
Despite that light weight, Citizen AT2480-81 watches are considerably stronger and more scratch-resistant than their steel counterparts. The titanium is also very kind to the skin, being anti-allergic. There are plenty of people who get skin irritation from steel jewellery, if you suffer from the same then a titanium watch is a good alternative.
Citizen watches are generally well equipped and so are these models with sapphire glass, chronograph movements, illuminated hands and Eco-Drive. Thanks to Eco-Drive, a battery change is therefore never necessary. The light-sensitive cell in these Citizen's powers the watch and once fully charged, the power reserve is 150 days. You can then put it away in the dark for up to 150 days and it will still have enough energy to run.
If you are buying a watch, think about how waterproof it should be beforehand. You might never go into the pool with a watch on, but it can still be useful to get a watch that is sufficiently waterproof. Keep in mind that this may mean that a watch with a water resistance of up to 30 metres may already not be allowed in the shower. This is fine with the Citizen AT2480-81 models: they are waterproof up to 10ATM (100 metres).
