You’ll of course recognise Serena Williams from the tennis court. Well, not that you’ve actually played a game with her yourself, but you know what we mean. Serena’s certainly got the hang of tennis, but designing her own Royal Oak watch? She can now add that to her impressive list of achievements too. Together with Audemars Piguet, she designed the Royal Oak Self-winding Chronograph ‘Serena Williams’ Limited Edition. A truly luxurious ladies’ watch with a white ceramic case and strap, a pink mother-of-pearl dial and an automatic chronograph movement. Sporty, elegant and anything but run-of-the-mill!
You may not have realised it, but tennis legend Serena Williams and Audemars Piguet have been working together for over ten years. The Swiss watch brand and the American sports star share a passion for performance, technology and a distinctive style.
This long-standing collaboration has now resulted in a special watch: the Royal Oak Self-winding Chronograph “Serena Williams” Limited Edition, reference 26450CB.OO.1356CB.02.
It is not just any Royal Oak bearing the name of a famous sports star. Serena’s personal vision has genuinely been incorporated into the design.
Audemars Piguet emphasises the combination of strength and femininity. This is reflected in the robust, recognisable shapes of the Royal Oak and the softer appearance of the rose-coloured dial.
A lovely combination, in our view. After all, a sporty luxury watch doesn’t always have to be dark and understated.

The Royal Oak is renowned for its recognisable case shape and integrated strap. In this Serena Williams edition, that iconic design takes on a completely different look.
The case has a diameter of 38 mm. For a ladies’ watch, that’s a striking size, but it suits the sporty character of the Royal Oak perfectly.
And let’s be honest: this stunning watch certainly looks the part on the wrist!
The case and matching watch strap are made from white ceramic, rather than the usual stainless steel or titanium.
Ceramic is a hard material that is highly resistant to superficial scratches. At the same time, it requires precise machining and finishing, particularly when combining different textures and polished details.
In this Royal Oak, Audemars Piguet alternates brushed surfaces with carefully finished bevelled edges. This creates a subtle interplay of light and reflections.
The pink mother-of-pearl dial then lends the watch a completely different look. Mother-of-pearl naturally possesses a soft, vibrant lustre that changes depending on the angle of the light.
That pink hue forms a striking contrast with the white ceramic. It is precisely the contrast between the clean-lined case and the vibrant mother-of-pearl that makes this Royal Oak so intriguing.
The result is a watch that you really want to admire from every angle. Because with every change in light, you discover yet another detail.
A striking exterior is lovely, but with an Audemars Piguet watch, you can of course also expect impressive technology.
This Royal Oak houses the automatic calibre 6401, a mechanical chronograph movement developed in-house by Audemars Piguet.
A chronograph is a watch with a built-in stopwatch function. It allows you to measure elapsed time without stopping the regular time display.
On this Royal Oak, you’ll find the chronograph counters for hours and minutes at the 3 and 9 o’clock positions. The date is displayed between 4 and 5 o’clock.
With the stopwatch, you can, for example, measure how long an activity takes. A practical feature that naturally suits a watch designed in collaboration with a top female athlete.
Are you interested in watches with a similar timekeeping function? Then take a look at our chronograph watches. There you’ll find various models that combine sporty functionality with watch design.
On this Audemars Piguet, the chronograph is not only a practical addition but also a key part of the design. The additional sub-dials give the pink dial a sporty and technical look.
With some luxury watches, the back is almost as interesting as the front. That certainly applies to this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.
The sapphire crystal case back allows you to view part of the mechanical movement. One of the most striking components is the 22-carat rose gold rotor.
An automatic watch uses a mechanical movement that is wound by movement. When you move your wrist, a rotor inside the movement rotates. Through the winding mechanism, energy is stored in the mainspring that powers the watch.
No ordinary battery is required. The movement continues to run as long as there is sufficient energy stored in the mainspring.
That is also what makes automatic watches so fascinating to many enthusiasts. The technology consists of an interplay of mechanical components, with your movements helping to wind the movement.
And when you can also view that mechanism through a transparent case back, it becomes even more enjoyable.
The rose gold rotor also lends the whole watch a particularly luxurious look. It provides a striking contrast to the modern white ceramic on the exterior.
Oh, and you might be wondering how much this watch costs: the (US) recommended retail price is $95,900...
The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Self-winding Chronograph “Serena Williams” Limited Edition gives one of the world’s most famous luxury sports watches a distinctive new look.
The 38 mm white ceramic case, the integrated strap and the pink mother-of-pearl dial combine to create a striking ensemble. The automatic calibre 6401, the chronograph and the 22-carat rose gold rotor ensure that the technical aspects are equally impressive.
As far as we’re concerned, the appeal lies primarily in the combination. The recognisable Royal Oak design, the light ceramic finish and the soft pink mother-of-pearl really give this watch a character all of its own. A special collaboration between a Swiss watchmaker and one of the greatest tennis stars of all time. And no, you certainly don’t have to be a tennis fan to appreciate this watch!
