Citizen Radio-Controlled watches are among the most accurate in the Citizen range.
Thanks to the regular reception of the time signal, any deviation is automatically corrected. Many models in this collection feature quite a few settings and functions, which can make the dial look rather busy. However, this cannot be said of these four new watches in the collection. Radio-controlled Super Titanium watches with Eco-Drive, which keep you accurately on time with just three hands. (Photos: WatchXL Watches, Citizen).
Citizen’s new Super Titanium Radio-Controlled Eco-Drive watches are available with four different dial colours: blue, green, white and black. However, they all share the same technical specifications.
Each watch has a case diameter of 37.5 mm, a thickness of approximately 9.3 mm, anti-reflective sapphire crystal and is water-resistant to 10 bar (100 metres). This makes them ideal for everyday use and means you can even swim whilst wearing them. Thanks to their slim profile, they also fit easily under your sleeve.
This attractive collection is ideal for both men and women. They are, in fact, unisex watches. Do you like the watch? Then wear it – it doesn’t matter whether you’re a woman or a man.
The time display on Citizen CB1160 radio-controlled watches is extremely accurate thanks to the time signal from an atomic clock. Citizen states that this atomic clock has a deviation of just one second in 100,000 years. This is not, however, the watch’s inherent accuracy: the watch receives a radio signal to correct the time.
Without a signal, Citizen states that the H149 movement has a maximum deviation of approximately 15 seconds per month. So, with regular reception, you’d really have to try hard to be late for anything!

Citizen’s excellent H149 movement powers these models. Citizen’s Perfex system is also integrated. This combines protection against magnetic interference with shock detection and automatic correction of the hand position. In this way, it helps prevent the hands from becoming misaligned due to magnetism or a shock.
Naturally, with watches featuring these kinds of functions, you don’t want to have to replace the battery regularly or rely on the movement of your wrist. That’s why these models feature an Eco-Drive movement that converts ambient light – yes, even artificial light – into energy. This charges an internal battery.
When fully charged, the watch has a power reserve of around 180 days, and with energy-saving mode, this can extend to two years.

The dial looks so bare and simple. And it is. But appearances can be deceiving: the Citizen CB1160 watches are equipped with the following functions:
You wouldn’t know it just by looking at the dial; it appears deceptively simple. You can use the crown to select a different time zone. The lower push-button allows you, amongst other things, to check whether the watch needs charging and whether the last time signal was successfully received.
Energy-saving mode activates automatically if the watch is not exposed to light for more than seven days.
We’ve been writing about the benefits of Citizen’s Super Titanium watches for years. They’re scratch-resistant and very lightweight. So light, in fact, that you might wonder if the watch isn’t made of plastic. That’s certainly not the case: titanium simply has a much lower density than steel, and you can feel that when you wear the watch.
The special Duratect surface treatment provides extra scratch resistance. This makes Super Titanium ideal for everyday use: it’s light on your wrist and has a surface that’s highly resistant to scratches.
