The Zeppelin 8662MB-3 New Captain’s Line is an automatic men's watch for those with a penchant for classic numerals. This watch features a stunning combination with the otherwise all-steel models. White hands and Arabic numerals stand out against the dark blue dial. The separate indicators for seconds and the 24-hour display give the design a distinctive layout. Zeppelin manufactures this model in Ruhla, Germany, featuring a Japanese mechanical movement by Citizen Miyota.
The 24-hour indicator follows the same time as the main hands, but completes one full rotation every 24 hours. This allows you, for example, to distinguish between 10.00 am and 10.00 pm. It is not an independently adjustable second time zone. If that’s what you’re looking for, we recommend choosing a watch with world time. The other small dial displays the continuous seconds. So you get extra time information, without the watch being a chronograph or stopwatch.
This men's watch is an automatic timepiece: a rotating rotor converts the movement of your wrist into energy that winds the mainspring. This provides the energy for the movement, making a battery unnecessary. You can also wind it using the crown. The power reserve of approximately 40 hours indicates how long the watch can continue to run after being fully wound without a fresh supply of energy. And another lovely feature is that the transparent case back allows you to see the mechanism that makes this possible.
With a thickness of 13 mm and a stated weight of 161 grams, this Zeppelin has a distinct presence on your wrist. The buckle is handy if your wrist swells a little during the day; you can simply adjust it one notch wider, as no wrist is the same thickness at all times. The model features K1 mineral glass and is water-resistant to 5 bar, meaning you can wear it in the rain or whilst washing your hands, but not whilst swimming.
